Bishop Lyle Dukes is a strong visionary Christian leader committed to the work of the Lord Jesus Christ through the local church and passionate about the spiritual well-being of people. His life is dedicated to reaching, training and establishing souls and developing programs to enhance the assignment that God has placed within them.
Bishop Dukes received his foundational spiritual training in the Bible Way organization. In 1980, as a teenager, he was saved and baptized at the Tried Stone Bible Way Church in Washington, DC under the leadership of Bishop Henry Williams. While attending college, Bishop Dukes continued to serve faithfully at the Charlottesville Church of Christ pastored by Bishop Rufus Hayes – and he became a deacon there.
In 1986, he married his high school sweetheart, (then) Deborah Poindexter, daughter of Bishop Carver E. Poindexter and Pastor Lorene Poindexter (Pastors of the Love of Christ Church). After serving in the military as a commissioned officer, he served in many capacities at Love of Christ, including Sunday School Superintendent and District Superintendent. He also served at the State level supporting Apostle Lawrence G. Campbell as Virginia State Coordinator, International Bible Way Marketing Director and Special Assistant to the Apostle.
In 1993, he was ordained an Elder – and in 1995, Bishop and Pastor Poindexter sent (then) Pastor Dukes out with his wife to start the Harvest Life Church in Woodbridge, VA. Since its inception, the church has experienced exponential growth in membership and several dynamic programs, such as the Pastors Network, have been birthed. The Pastors Network is a global ministry founded by Bishop and Pastor Dukes, which includes approximately 500 churches in the United States and abroad.
After an extensive training program, he was ordained as a Bishop in 2010 and was selected to serve on the Executive Board of Bishops in 2014. In 2018, he was appointed as General Secretary of International Bible Way.
Additionally, Bishop Dukes is sought after in the corporate arena for his godly wisdom, integrity and business skill. He serves on the boards of several organizations, including being the Chairman of the Board (Elect) of the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce, the largest municipal Chamber in Virginia.
The weekly television broadcast, Change Today with Lyle and Deborah Dukes, airs on several networks, reaching over 200 countries and more than 86 million homes with the life-changing ministry of Jesus Christ. His loving relationship with his wife and partner in ministry, Pastor Deborah, serves as a model for marriages around the world. Their powerful close-knit relationship has become a signature of their ministry as they reach the world together for Christ. They have one daughter, Brittany Dukes-Bryant (son-in-law, Brandon), who currently serves as the Virginia State Diocese Youth President – and three grandsons.
Bishop Lyle Dukes’ mission is to teach, train, develop and empower people to live better, love better, serve better and give better. He is a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend.
